Beginning the first week of January 2026, The Dardanelle Public Works Department will embark on a project to expand the delivery of water from the Water Works Plant on Long Street on the South side to the Water Storage Tank on Dam Road on the North Side. The addition of a new 16" water main will maximize the amount of water being pumped into the Water Storage Tank.

The new water main will be installed beneath 2nd Street, from Long Street to Dam Road. This installation will require excavation under 2nd Street in order to install the new water main. When the excavation and installation of the new water main are complete, 2nd Street will be completely repaved, vastly improving the road's current condition.

During the course of the project there will be temporary lane closures and rerouting of traffic on 2nd Street on the section of road under construction. While it will be an inconvenience, the outcome should be well worth the effort.

To keep you better informed, we will provide weekly updates on the progress of the project here on the App.

It is an exciting new chapter for our community, and we hope we can count on your cooperation and support during the construction work. When the project has been completed, it will better serve our water needs both now and as we experience the future growth of our community for many years to come.

Mr. Dennis Overman with Blackstone Construction will be the main point of contact for this project. Mr. Overman will be contacting residents to inform them about the project either by phone or by visiting the homes. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Mr. Overman at 479-968-1149 or you can email at dennis@bscasphalt.com
