The City Attorney is elected to a term of office each four years. The duties of the City attorney include representing the City in court for violations of City ordinances; advising the elected officials of the City, including the mayor, city clerk, and aldermen; defending the City in suits which are filed against the City; and prosecuting actions for nuisance or damage which affect the City. |
