Dardanelle Water Department The Dardanelle Water Department serves a population of 4228 with 1683 connections. Water is sold wholesale to Northeast Yell County Water Association which in turn serves a population of approximately 1300 with the water purchased. Dardanelle utilizes 8 vertical wells and 1 horizontal collector well for its raw water source. These wells have a combined yield of approximately 5.5 million gallons per day. The Water Treatment plant currently has a capacity of 3 million gallons per day with construction under way to increase the capacity to 5 million gallons per day. The Water Department currently has 6 employees. There are two at the Water Treatment Plant, two in Distribution, an office manager and department manager. The department manager is Bill Smith.
